The story revolves around Utena Hiragi, an introverted schoolgirl who lives in a town protected by three magical girls. Utena is a huge fan of theirs and dreams of becoming just like them. One day, Venalita, a black mascot character, appears to her and grants Utena magical powers, but not so that she can become a heroine and fight alongside the magical trio for good and justice. Instead, she becomes a villain who serves the dark forces of Enormita and is now forced to fight against her beloved magicians. Despite her unwanted and imposed role, she discovers a dark sadomasochistic side to herself, which is revealed in her desire to dominate her idols and derive pleasure from sexually humiliating them and causing them suffering.
